On Sunday, October 30th WEC lost it’s founder and director Mrs. Linda Murphy:

Linda Murphy of Danbury, CT and formerly of Sherman, CT and long time resident of South Salem, NY, died on Sunday, October 30, 2011. Linda was born in White Plains, graduated from White Plains High School and continued her education at Manhattanville College where she received her Master's Degree in School Administration. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Timothy Murphy. She is survived by her daughters Susan Achorn and Samantha Lang and her brother Henry Muhlenbruch. Linda is also survived by three grandchildren, Jessica, Christina and Jeffrey Achorn. She is also survived by her foster sister, Judy Kuenzle and her foster brother Jay Kuenzle. Linda was the founder and director of the Westchester Exceptional Children's School in North Salem, New York for over 42 years. Linda Murphy dedicated her life to the education of special needs children, her legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those special students and their families.
